Feb. 9th, 2004 07:18 am The Lord of the Rings, Annotated Script

Well, the CDs were burned, but now, we have found some errors in a few of the tracks:

  • Track 2 has Bilbo telling a story in a place that he shouldn't be
  • track 23 should come after track 25

The way i see it, i have some friends who wouldn't mind in the least to have one, even if there were some errors in it. And good for them, too: more reason for me to have one that is correct.

I'm sharing it with the crew today, and seeing what they think.
if i remember, i'll post their response later.

this is psychotic.

i'm sitting here in intro to business, (today we happen to be in the comp lab) and ten different comps are playing ten different sets of music! this is giving me a KILLER HEADACHE but the teacher has no control over this group of mostly freshies, so asking her won't do any good.

a third of my minds wants me to sit here and do nothing, but the rest of me wants to:

  • blast my own music, probably FFF's 100 years
  • or tie up the printer
  • or print complaints in gigantic size fonts and tie up the printer
  • or try to crash the computers
  • or something equally creative.

what do you think?

Feb. 2nd, 2004 07:07 am Shaggy fell asleep on my lap, again

I had a great time yesterday, having been given the opportunity to see Scooby and Shaggy again. (Last time I saw them was Christmas break.) They were so happy to see me, and Shaggy almost wouldn't let me stand up. Supposedly, there are two families looking to adopt them; I'm happy for them but would definitely miss them greatly.

I haven't had time yet to post the poem I wrote for them, maybe later, I hope.

Jan. 14th, 2004 07:55 am new pages

the new pages of my website are coming along unusually quickly, and the fact that I'm using iframes certainly seems to be helping. if the rest of my site was updated this quickly, i'd never have to woory about broken links again.

right now, i'm averaging at one additional page of information daily, which is the fastest i've ever gone. but now i'm reaching a point where the info i need isn't all in my head, so i expect that rate to drop quickly.

if i have spare time while waiting for the info to come available, i will start re-vamping my poetry page. however, if i do do this, it means i will start all over; because the originol problems i was having were all frame based, and i plan to do all iframes. this means retyping all of the code (which i really don't mind) and reprocessing all my poetry and stories.

but that's okay: right now i'm willing to do just about anything and everything it takes to get my page out of the hole it's in right now.

the new set of pages can be viewed here if you have JS enabled.

if JS is not enabled, all you'll get by going to the above link is a blank window (i apologise for that, and am trying to get to the point where i have time to fix that). instead go here. the pages are the identical, but the former only exists to shorten the latter's url.

thanks
bv

Well, I finally finished the presentation for Chem, no thanks to my partner (who didn't do any work). NOTE TO SELF: Do any other projects alone, and never under any circumstances, have

Jackie Felgenhauer

as a group member again.

I just found out that the first friday after christmas break, the entries for the Suburban Prairie Literary Festival are due.

In the past, I have entered the maximum nuber of poems, but this year, I don't think I will. Recently, I haven't been writing many poems.

I think I'll enter "Running" and "Blue Dragon" but I haven't decided anything else. I will not be entering the short story that I had planned on ("The Crow and The Wolf") and I don't have any other 'short' stories.

Oh well.

Well, we just got the quizzes back, and it seems almost everyone did horribly. I got a 91.3% (21/23).

I just finished the Alg quiz.
Before it started, someone asked if they could skip it because they forgot to study and I remarked that I didn't study either.
Someone else turned to me and said "but you don't need to study."
Truth be told, I was the first one done, with the second place person trailing by a good 90 seconds. I'll post my grade tomorrow.

Edit: here is my grade: http://www.livejournal.com/users/bv_manuscripts/23597.htm
